ACMA Blocks 7 Affiliate Gambling Websites

The Australian Communications and Media Authority has issued blocking orders against seven affiliate gambling websites. The ACMA ordered Internet service provides in the country to restrict access to the following websites: Australia OK Casinos, Aussie Casino Hex, Aussie Online Pokies, Australian Casino Hub, True Blue Casinos and Australian Gambling.

According to the organization, these websites declared themselves as independent reviews of different online casinos but provided direct links to illegal gambling services. In such a way they received commissions from traffic. Fiona Cameron, one of the main authorities of the ACMA, noted that such marketing sites push customers to unlicensed and unregulated gambling services, that are absent from the protection.

The complaints they received from customers included not honouring winnings, at the same time targeting problem gamblers. The organization started blocking requests back in 2019 when it got new enforcement powers. After this time over 270 websites, that provided illegal gambling services were blocked.

During the blocking orders issued in June, gambling websites operated by Kings Chance Service were the latest to be blocked by the ACMA. At the same time, almost 144 operators pulled out of the country due to new rules introduced in 2017.

Fiona Cameron also added that the ACMA was actively pursuing illegal gambling websites and pushing them out of the country.
